GE ENERGY
FINANCIAL SERVICES ADDS HOUSTON-BASED MANAGING DIRECTOR TO POWER AND RENEWABLE
ENERGY GROUP
HOUSTON Sept. 26, 2011 – GE Energy Financial Services, a unit of GE
(NYSE: GE), announced today that it is growing its Houston team and adding an
industry veteran focused on power and renewable energy. John Jones is becoming
a managing director based in Houston to focus on equity investments in power
projects. He brings extensive experience in renewable- and fossil-fueled projects
to a team that has successfully invested billions of dollars in North American
power projects.
Jones, 45,
joins GE from Lincoln Renewable Energy, a developer of utility-scale solar
projects, where he was chief development officer. His efforts at Lincoln
resulted in an extensive project pipeline and the successful development of the
10-megawatt New Jersey Oak Solar project, now under construction. Prior to
joining Lincoln, Jones served as senior vice president of commercial execution
at Invenergy. There he was responsible for
originating long-term power sales, resulting in closing hedges and power
purchase agreements for 11 wind projects totaling over 1,000 MW and 1,200 MW of
long-term power purchase agreements and hedges on natural gas-fired power projects.
Prior to
joining Invenergy, Jones worked in power marketing
and project development with Citadel, Progress Energy, InterGen,
Dynegy and Enron after starting his career with McKinsey & Company. John
earned both his BBA and Masters in Accounting at The University of Texas,
